Social Compliance Policy Statement

American Plastics, LLC has chosen to comply voluntarily with the SA8000 International Standard regarding Social Compliance. American Plastics is committed to conform to all requirements of the SA8000 Standard and to respect all federal, state and local labor and employment laws including those of Arizona, Missouri, Ohio, and South Carolina.

1. Child Labor:

American Plastics shall not engage in or support the use of child workers (under the age of 18 years old).

2. Forced or Compulsory Labor:

American Plastics shall not engage in or support the use of forced or compulsory labor (including prisoners) and will not engage in or support human trafficking. Personnel shall have the right to leave the workplace premises after completing the standard workday. All employees are employed at-will and are free to terminate their employment with or without notice, although American Plastics requests reasonable notice to avoid disruption of its operations.

3. Health and Safety:

American Plastics is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace environment for all employees, visitors, suppliers and contractors and ensure we are in compliance with OSHA standards. The Social Performance Team/Health & Safety committee shall conduct formal, periodic occupational health and safety risk assessments to identify and address current and potential health and safety hazards. All personnel shall have the right to remove themselves from imminent danger without seeking permission from the organization.

4. Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining:

American Plastics shall respect employee’s rights to form, join or organize trade unions of their choice without any negative consequences or retaliation from the Company.

5. Discrimination:

American Plastics does not discriminate against candidates and employees with regard to any employment decisions which includes hiring, promoting, compensating, granting benefits, training, disciplining and all other personnel actions. American Plastics employment is based upon personal capabilities and qualifications without regard to age, race, ancestry, color, national origin, ethnicity, alienage, religion or religious creed or belief, physical or mental disability, legally protected medical condition, genetic information, sex, sexual orientation, marital or familial status, citizenship status, military or veteran status, protected activity, or any other status or classification protected by applicable federal, state, and/or local laws.

6. Disciplinary Practices:

American Plastics is committed to treating all personnel with dignity and respect. The Company shall not engage in or tolerate the use of corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion or verbal abuse of personnel. No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed.

7. Working Hours:

American Plastics shall comply with applicable laws and industry standards on working hours, breaks and public holidays. All overtime, outside of the rotating schedule, shall be voluntary and shall not be requested on a regular basis.

8. Remuneration:

American Plastics shall respect the right of personnel to a living wage and ensure that wages for a normal work week, not including overtime, shall always meet at least legal or industry minimum standards. Wages shall be sufficient to meet the basic needs of personnel and to provide some discretionary income.

9. Management System:

A Social Performance Team (SPT) has been established and will work alongside management to implement all elements of the SA8000. The SPT will conduct bi-annual meetings, risk assessments and internal audits to review and monitor the policies and procedures implemented within the SA8000 standard and make any revisions as necessary and address any non-conformance(s) to the SA8000 standard. Following each meeting or audit, Senior Management will be notified of any areas of opportunity identified.


This policy statement shall be communicated to all employees, supervisors, managers and suppliers. This policy will be reviewed and signed by senior management annually and revised appropriately. A copy of this policy will be posted on all bulletin boards and the company website so that it is publicly available.
